prayer week 5
Dear Families and Friends,
Tomorrow we celebrate Book Week with the opportunity to dress up as our favourite book character. This years theme is "Reading is my Secret Power" and I look forward to seeing how everyone interprets this theme. We will continue celebrating books, with our senior students leading reading activities with the younger students who will rotate through the variety of activities organised. Finally our celebrations will culminate with the Second Hand Book sale, where students can buy a book for only $1. Thank you to all of those families who have kindly donated their books.

On Tuesday night we held our AGM for our School Board. At the meeting Shannon Tanner resigned from her position of Chairperson and the Board. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Shannon for her generosity for the past 4 and half years to the Board and School community. On a personal note I also want to thank Shannon for her support and honesty throughout this time. The position of Chair was vacated and nominations were received with Di Relton being nominated and unanimously voted to the position. We thank Di for accepting this position of Chair and look forward to working closely with her for the next 12 months. Also at the meeting Josh Bunting was nominated as a parent representative and we warmly welcome him to the group.

Today we have sent home Intentions for 2020 forms as we are currently looking at staffing and budgets for next year. If you know of families that are looking to join us at St Francis of Assisi; enrolment information is available through the office and our school website. Enrolment interviews for our Transition classes are already underway and we look forward to welcoming new families to our school community.

On Wednesday the Science Questacon Circus visited our School. The students thoroughly enjoyed the activities as their imagination and inquiry were ignited.

Next Friday we welcome our Dads and special men in our lives to a morning breakfast. Please come along and enjoy a bacon and egg sandwich or two from 8:00ish, followed by a liturgy to thank these men and the wonderful people that they are.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in their favourite character tomorrow.
