Dear Families and Friends,

It has been an extremely busy and exciting term 2. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the students for their hard work and persistence with their learning, the staff for working so hard to meet the needs of the children and the families for their support and partnership. In this final newsletter for the term we would like to wish Miss Yvonne the very best after working with us for the past 15 years. I know that she is very excited about ‘retirement’ and the next phase of her journey. This week we also farewell our school counsellor Sarah. Sarah has worked at St Francis for almost two years and during that time has been part of many students and their families lives. We would like to wish Sarah all the best for the future and thank her for her gifts that she has shared with us. We will meet our new school counsellor next term.

This week Constable Kris has been working with our children in regards to keeping safe when on the internet or using social media. It is so important that we are all proactive within this area and also keeping our children safe. For more information please visit thinkuknow.org.au

Since May we have had four very dedicated students along with their families participate in the Coolalinga Central Chess Championships. These students demonstrated commitment, perseverance and enthusiasm. Congratulations to Milla Flynn, Henry Green, Roy Jansan and Isaac Jansan. We are still awaiting the final results of the competition but I know these students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the opportunity.

On Saturday Night I enjoyed a concert performed by the MacKillop Catholic College String Ensemble. It was a very enjoyable concert and a wonderful acknowledgement of the hard work and dedication of these musicians. It was great to see some familiar faces; some past and current students of St Francis of Assisi. We were particularly proud of Dakota Limbert for receiving an award for showing consistent effort, home practice and excellent progress throughout the year and Dexter Bolwell who received an award for showing dedication and commitment to improving instrumental technique throughout the year.

Congratulations to those students who made their Sacrament
of the Eucharist at the Church on Sunday, it was a beautiful
celebration.

The SOBs website will be open to families from Monday the 22nd of July for those who would like to book their child’s
‘Conversations for Learning’ meetings in week 3 of next term.
Parents will need to use this URL to make bookings:
