Dear Families and Friends,
A night to remember at the Night at the Theatre. Friday night was definitely the show we had been waiting for! The children were absolute stars and their performances were sensational. Once again we acknowledge the businesses who supported our concert through donations for the raffle or financial support towards the production. These included; Tackle World, Arafura Bluewater Charters, The Cool Guys, iFitness-Coolalinga, Litchfield Vets, Saltwater Float Spa, Greenthemes Indoor Plant Hire, The Cricket and Football Shop, Lilliebet Gifts, Estelle's Florist, Abbott's Cleaning, Barnyard Trading and Organic Ag. Please support these businesses as part of our thanks, if and when you have the opportunity. I would like to thank all those who worked so tirelessly to ensure our concert was so successful. A special mention to Mr Gerry Wood for being part of the show and to MacKillop Catholic College for filming our concert; which we hope we will be able to make available to families in the coming weeks.

This morning we celebrated the life of Mary MacKillop with our whole school liturgy. Mary MacKillop lived for the poor and needy and is our first and only Australian Saint. One of her mantras was 'Never see a need without doing something about it.'

This week teachers, students and parents came together as part of our 'Conversations for Learning'. These conferences gave teachers and families the opportunity to celebrate student achievements and to discuss learning goals for this semester. Thank you to all our families who have come along and continued to strengthen our home-school partnership.

Tuesday the 20th of August is our Annual AGM for our School Board. Everyone is welcome to join us for our AGM, which is held in the staff room starting from 5:30. If you would like to know more about the role of the school board or would like to join us please come along.

This week we welcome back Ms Bec to the Early Learning Centre after enjoying eight weeks of long service leave. Thank you to Ms Deb who was our Acting Assistant Director during this time and did a marvelous job while Ms Bec was on leave.
Returning on Monday is Ms Jess, our OSHC Coordinator, after taking some leave to have her beautiful baby.

At the Darwin Show, some of our students participated in a number of events. Further in the newsletter we continue to celebrate with some of our students who participated and featured at the show. Please send in your photos or stories so we can share them.

Please put the date Friday 13th of September into you diary as all Catholic Primary Schools will be closed for staff to attend professional learning in the area of Catholic Identity.

Next Friday the P&F have organised our school disco. We hope that families are able to come along and enjoy a dance or two with us.

Grow in Wisdom and Love
