Dear Families and Friends,

Thank you to everyone for their support of our Crazy Hair Day fundraiser for the Cancer Council last week. We raised an amazing $150. Another huge shout out and thank you to the families and friends who came along and visited us at the Fred’s Pass Show last weekend. Thank you also to the staff, parents and students who assisted in running the stall. It was a huge success with particular highlights of participating in the parade and being part of the ‘Outback Track.’ We would like to acknowledge the support of Bendigo Bank and their sponsorship.

This week we welcomed Simon Collier to our school from the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority as part of a project St Francis of Assisi has been participating in since the end of 2017. Our project has been integrating the subject of digital technologies within the curriculum. Mr Collier has been working with teachers and providing demonstration lessons with the children in the area of plugged and unplugged activities.
Classes will have the opportunity to share some of the learnings in the following newsletters…stay tuned. Congratulations to Mrs Morgan who was successful in her application for a Science week grant. The money received will be spent on providing activities and resources to engage with the children during science week. I am away attending the Principal’s gathering today and tomorrow. Mrs Morgan will be coordinating the school in my absence. We would like to send our warmest wishes and congratulations to Ms White and her family on the announcement of her pregnancy. We wish her all the best in the coming months.

Grow in Wisdom and Love,
Melanie Bolwell
Principal
Please keep your ‘Earn & Learn’ stickers coming in. The more stickers we are able to collect the more exciting new equipment we are able to get for our kids at St Francis.
