Prayer all saints Week 3
Dear families and friends,
Tomorrow is all Saints Day. Our morning will begin with a special assembly presented by all the classes. We look forward to families and friends joining us for this special celebration.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making last Friday such an enjoyable day for all staff. We also acknowledge Mr Gerry Wood, our local member, for his chocolates and our Director of Catholic Education, Greg O'Mullane, for his gift to staff.

This week we welcome to the team our new counsellor from Catholic Care, Hannah Hendry. Hannah has already begun working with students and has made a big impact on them.

Thank you to all the families who supported the Woolworths Earn and Learn program. Our resources arrived last week and have been added to our 'Makerspace' room. The Makerspace provides hands-on, creative ways to encourage students to design, experiment, build and invent as they deeply engage in science, engineering and tinkering. A makerspace is not solely a science lab, woodshop, computer lab or art room, but it may contain elements found in all of these familiar spaces.

We are sad to announce that Mrs Bartle will be leaving us at the end of this school year and moving to America with her family. I know that Mrs Bartle will be missed but we would like to take this opportunity to wish her and her family all the best as they begin their next exciting adventure. We will begin advertising this position in the near future.

We look forward to inviting our 2020 Transition students to their orientation mornings on Wednesday the 20th and Thursday the 21st of November. A parent information session and morning tea will be held on the morning of the 20th.

Next week we celebrate Mission Week. Mission Week raises awareness and funds for Catholic Mission. This year’s World Mission Appeal is in support of the needs of children and families in Ghana, West Africa. The children will be invited to bring money to spend on items or activities throughout the week ranging from 50c to $2.00. On the Friday we are encouraging all children to wear casual clothes for a gold coin donation to go towards the World Mission appeal.

Next Thursday at 11:00am the students of St Francis will join with thousands of other students from around the country singing the same song at the same time. There is a live stream at https://live.musicaustralia.org.au and we will post this on our facebook page or you can come along and join in the fun.

Please keep in our prayers and thoughts the Gotts family after the loss of their family member on the weekend.

Grow in wisdom and love

Mel
