Hello St Francis Families,

Welcome back to Term 4! I hope everyone had a wonderful break and enjoyed some quality time with family and friends. It was lovely to welcome all of the students back to school. I would like to welcome Poppy back to the Year 1/ 2 classroom, everyone was very excited to see her. I would also like to welcome Mrs Evi Dando back to the Year 3/ 4 class as she returns from maternity leave. We also extend a warm welcome to Mary Kangaharan and Roxanne Woolley who will be teaching in Year 5/ 6 this term. Sarah Haydon will be working across the classrooms this term in a literacy support and enrichment role. Mrs Cara Flynn will be moving to Brisbane with her family next year and we wish her a wonderful Term 4.

We would like to invite parents to meet with the classroom teacher on Tuesday 25th October so that your child can share their learning journey with you and their goals for Term 4. I know that there has already been great engagement with teachers and parents meeting. Parents are always welcomed and encouraged to meet with teachers at any time throughout the year.

We will welcome our 2023 Transition students this term as they familiarise themselves with St Francis as they participate in a school readiness programme. Our parent information session will be held on Thursday 27 October in our school library. In the following weeks the Transition students will then get to experience the routines of school through fun, supportive and engaging learning activities. Students must be enrolled for Transition in 2023 to participate, please contact the office for enrolment applications.

Mandatory isolation periods for people who test positive for Covid-19 has been removed in the NT from Friday 14th October. It remains important all people stay home when feeling unwell to help protect our school community.

If your circumstances have changed and you will not be returning to St Francis in 2023, please notify the office. We are currently preparing for 2023 and this assists us when confirming staffing and number of classes.

We wish our Touch Rugby team the best of luck today as they participate in an Interschool Competition. They have braved the heat at lunch times to train for the event. A huge thank you to Mr Brodie for his expertise coaching. Our Year 5/6 students have been working in class to develop their creative and design thinking skills via 3D design schools. We have some students representing St Francis next Friday at the Makers Empire showcase day.

God bless,
Jen
