Dear Families,

Term 4 is flying by already and it is very hot! The heat has not stopped the students and it has been wonderful as I visit classes to see them engaged and focussed on their learning. It brings joy to my heart to have the students excitedly share their learning with me.

Our 2023 Transition students are coming to ‘Big School’ to begin orientation. They will have a wonderful rich play based innovative learning environment to build their confidence and support their critical and creative thinking skills. Transition enrolments for 2023 are still open so if you know of anyone considering schools for next year please invite them to come and visit St Francis for a tour of our school. Let them know we are enrolling students from ELC- Year 6.

We have begun the process of forming our classes for 2023. Many hours and effort go into creating our classes and lists, and there are many factors that are considered. Decisions are made that best support and promote your child’s well-being and academic success. We will be finalising our composite class splits, student lists and staffing in the next few weeks. We will share with our families once all details have been confirmed. Thank you for your support.

Cyber Safety conversations with your child are very important and it is never too early to start these. Here are the top five tips from the eSafety Commissioner to help you navigate your conversations.
  1. Think of others’ feelings before you post, like or share content.
  2. Ask for permission before you share a photo or video with someone else.
  3. Be an upstander, speak up if you see someone not being respectful online. Report and delete.
  4. Use privacy and screen time settings when setting up devices to protect your information and monitor use
  5. Ask for help if you see something online that makes you feel uncomfortable
Our teachers are collaborating with the students for our Humpty Doo Heroes project planned for Week 6. Look out for class news and updates on class Dojo.

Look after yourselves in this hot weather. Have a fabulous weekend and stay cool!

God bless,
Jen

MAKING JESUS REAL

Attitude

We have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the ievitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.
Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.
(Charles Swindoll)

Attitudes are contagious and we are spreading our positive attitudes across the school.
