A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Last week I had the opportunity to take part in the Catholic Education Northern Territory Principal’s Retreat in Katherine. The retreat was facilitated by Tony Clarke from the Marists and was entitled ‘First Light - Reveal the Spirit’ based on Matthew 5:14-16. The focus of the retreat was on looking for the extraordinary in the everyday.

Tony shared a number of artworks, scriptural references and pieces of literature for reflection over the course of the retreat. A real highlight was sections of the TED Talk by American photographer and writer Dewitt Jones, ‘Celebrate What’s Right with the World’. Next Friday, May 31st from 6pm to 8pm is the Ultimate Hoedown which promises to be a night of fun for the whole family. There will be a disco, games, raffles and prizes. A pre-order form for dinner has been sent home and a drink station will also be available on the night.
|
Not only will it be a night of fun, we will also be drawing the winners of our Major Raffle. Tickets went home last week and can be purchased at the front office. There are heaps of amazing prizes so get your tickets in!! $5 each, or 5 for $20. A huge thank you to all the wonderful P&F volunteers who have done an amazing job in organising this event.

Semester One Student Reports
|
Our teaching staff are currently carrying out assessments to inform the Semester One student reports. These formal reports form a part of the school’s assessment and reporting processes. The reports will provide an update on student learning and progress. Hard copy reports will be sent home on Tuesday, June 18th.
|
A reminder that as the weather cools down school jackets are available to purchase at the front office for $60. We ask that if students do not have a school jacket that they wear a plain navy jumper.
