A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

unnamed
Hi All,

Last Friday we held our annual Sports Carnival which was a great day. It was wonderful to see all the students trying their best and encouraging each other. A big thank you to everyone who helped out and supported on the day. This year we also had students from Mackillop Catholic College help run our field events which was a welcome addition.

Well done to all those who took part on the day. A special congratulations to Anthony House (Blue Team) who were the winners of both the Spirit Cup for outstanding sportsmanship and the Perpetual Shield as overall points winners. It is the first time since 2006 that Anthony House has won the Perpetual Shield.

Feast of Saint Mary MacKillop
Today we celebrated the feast of Saint Mary MacKillop with a special mass. Saint Mary MacKillop was the first person from Australia to become a saint. She loved God very much and spent her life helping others. She started a group called the Sisters of St Joseph to teach children and care for the poor and the sick. She believed in the power of education and wanted every child to have the chance to learn.

One of her famous sayings is, "Never see a need without doing something about it." This means that if you see someone who needs help, you should do your best to help them. Saint Mary MacKillop is a great example of kindness, courage, and faith.

Art Show
A reminder that our school Art Show will be held Wednesday August 14th from 3pm. The theme for this year’s show is ‘Care for Our Common Home’. All students have decorated a template that can be ordered to be printed on a plate. Other templates for other printable items are available from the office. The Art Show will also feature other works of students from across the school.
