A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

unnamed
Hi All,

Last week we had a number of visitors at the school from the Catholic Education Northern Territory office as part of the School Improvement and Renewal Framework (SIRF) process. The panel was made up of our Director: Paul Greaves, Deputy Director - Teaching and Learning: Annalea McCurry, Leader of Catholic Identity and Mission: Ann Charles, and Principals’ Consultant:
Jennifer Edstein Boyes.

The panel met with myself and other members of staff to discuss the school’s Annual School Improvement Plan goals and our progress on these goals. The panel also met with our Grade Six students to discuss their time at St Francis of Assisi and took part in a ‘Learning Walk’ through all classrooms.

The panel then prepared some feedback for the school made up of commendations and recommendations. This information will help guide the school with future planning. Overall it was a very affirming experience and I would like to thank all staff for their support in preparing for the day.

Mackillop Catholic College - Young Musician of the Year Competition
St Francis of Assisi had a number of students taking part in the Mackillop Catholic College’s Young Musician of the Year Competition this week. All the students participate in weekly musical instrument lessons at the school delivered by tutors from Mackillop Catholic College. Well done to Eunha, Byul, Piper & Shaye. Photos will be in next week's Newsletter.

Catholic Schools Public Speaking
I would also like to wish the best of luck to our School Captain, Joseph Croft, who will represent our school at the Catholic Schools Public Speaking competition tomorrow. The competition will be hosted at Holy Spirit Catholic Primary School in Wanguri this year and involves all Catholic Primary schools in the Darwin region. Each school is represented in the Public Speaking Competition and all Grade Six students take part in a range of activities. It is a great opportunity for students to connect with other Grade Six students at the different Catholic schools in the region.

Senior W RSPCA Cupcake Day Fundraiser
A reminder that our Senior W Class will host a cupcake stall at school on Tuesday, September 17th. All money raised will go to the RSPCA to support all the amazing work that they do. Donations can also be made via the link below: https://www.rspcacupcakeday.com.au/fundraisers/seniorwpetprotectors

2025 Planning
Planning for the 2025 school year is well underway. Tonight (Thursday September 12th) the school will hold an Enrolment Information Session at 5:30pm in the library. Enrolments are now open for the Transition class of 2025. To assist with planning for next year all families will soon receive an intentions letter where you will be asked if your children will be returning to St Francis of Assisi next year. The more information we have allows us to best plan our school and class structures.

With Faith in their Future
