A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

unnamed
Hi All,

On Monday we had our final School Board meeting prior to the Annual General Meeting which will be held on Monday October 28th at 5pm in the school library. The AGM involves the election of office bearers including parent representatives. The School Board is an advisory body which meets six times a year. It is made up of the Principal, the Parish Priest, up to six elected Board members who are parents of current students, and nominated members who represent groups within the school community such as the P&F. If you are interested in joining the school board please get in contact with me.

I would also like to take the opportunity to thank Renae Scown who will be stepping down as the P&F Coordinator after two years. Renae has done a power of work organising a range of activities and fundraisers for the school over this time. She was also instrumental in the school’s back-to-back victories in the Darwin Christmas Parade Pageant. We are hoping to go for three in a row in 2024! If you are interested in being part of the P&F in 2025 or even taking on the role of Coordinator please get in contact with me.

St Francis of Assisi Representatives
Over the past few weeks we have had a number of students represent the school in different ways. Last week the school was represented by Joseph Croft in the annual Darwin Catholic Schools Public Speaking competition. Joseph should be very proud of his efforts.

The school was also represented at the Mackillop Catholic College Young Musician of the Year competition. Well done to our school representatives Piper Short, Shaye Slark, Eunha Kim and Byul Kim who were all awarded prizes.

Just yesterday we had a number of our senior students represent the school at the Primary Interschool Australian Rules Football carnival at Driver Primary School. All the students had a great day out and tried their best. Well done to Miss Nolan and Mr Jackson for their guidance as coaches.

Senior W RSPCA Cupcake Day Fundraiser
A big thank you to all those people who supported the Senior W RSPCA Cupcake Day Fundraiser by either making or purchasing cupcakes. The class selected the charity and learnt lots about the services it provides. The event also raised much needed funds for the RSPCA.

2025 Planning
The school is beginning the process of forming class groupings for the 2025 school year. To carry out this task it is important that we are aware of which students will be returning next year and which students are leaving us.

Staff spend considerable time forming class groupings to best meet the social and academic needs of all students. The more information that is available to us ensures that this process is as efficient as possible. Please complete the online form below as soon as possible:
