Last day for 2020

week 8 advent peace
Dear Families and Friends,
This week we have continued to make preparations and await the holidays and the freedom to wake up when we are finished sleeping not because our alarm has told us so, just like we are waiting and getting ready for the birth of Jesus during this time of Advent.

Today is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The theme this year is “Building Back Better: toward a disability-inclusive, accessible and sustainable post COVID-19 World”.
The observance of the day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. It also seeks to increase awareness of gains to be derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economical and cultural life.

Our Transitions, Year One and Year Two students have thoroughly enjoyed participating in the swimming program offered this week. However, this program is only an introduction to water safety and swimming and we strongly encourage all families to enrol in a more rigorous program for their children.

Due to the success of our Vacation Care Program that we ran during the October school holidays, we will be offering the program again. Please find within the newsletter further information about the program and the booking form.

It was with great disappointment that we had to share with our families last week that the supplier, Picture Products, were unlikely to be able to complete and ship our orders before the end of the school term.

Sadly the Rural Community Carols will not occur this year in the manner that we have traditionally enjoyed. Instead, Schools and Community Organisations have been invited to record their performance and upload it. The committee will be putting the video up on the 12th Dec at 6pm on the Rural Carols page at: https://www.facebook.com/darwinruralcommunitycarols/

The end of the year is always a busy time for both families and school, here are some dates for your diary:
Academic Reports will be sent home – Tuesday 15th December
End of the School Year and Graduation Mass with the Award Ceremony – Wednesday
16th December from 9:00am
Students final day – Thursday 17th December

Please keep sending in your Christmas raffle tickets as there are some great prizes to be won. Tickets are only $10 for a book of 6 tickets or $2 a ticket.

Grow in Wisdom and Love.
