Week 6 Prayer
Dear Families and Friends,
We have a very exciting week planned for everyone at St Francis of Assisi next week with celebrations and significant days to acknowledge.
On Wednesday it is St Patrick's Day. The day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. To recognise the day we are inviting students to wear a touch of green.

We will also be celebrating Harmony Week. Harmony Day occurs on the 21st of March each year and coincides with the United Nations' International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. We will spend the week celebrating Australia's multiculturalism, and the successful integration of migrants into our community. The message of Harmony Week is Everyone Belongs.

On Friday it is the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence (NDA). It is an important day to mark for our school and other Australian school communities as we stand together against bullying and violence.

We are inviting students to join us on Friday dressed in orange. This is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Week as it relates to the freedom of ideas and the encouragement of mutual respect. Bring along a gold coin to support Caritas Australia who work with the most vulnerable communities to eradicate poverty and injustice. We will walk together as a school around Challoner Circuit to spread the message of everyone belonging and No Way! to bullying.
If you are in the position to join us from 8:45am next Friday we would love to see you.

It is with sadness that I share with families that Mrs Gullefer has decided to resign at the end of Term 1 to move to Tasmania with her husband. Mrs Gullefer has been with us for the past couple of years and we have enjoyed her sense of fun and her commitment to the school, including being the staff representative on the School Board. We wish Juliet and Shane all the best for the future and look forward to hearing about their adventure from a lot more cooler climate.
We are currently advertising the position and will inform families of our new staff member in the coming weeks.

A letter was sent home earlier this week regarding the Sacramental Program. The Sacramental Program is run by the Parish and they would like families to nominate whether they would prefer lessons to take place during the week or on Sundays. Please respond to Father Giovanni by the 21st of March at stfrancisofassisi@darwindiocese.com

Thank you to all our families who have made donations towards our annual Easter raffle. There is still time to send something in. Together we can make this the biggest raffle ever!

Grow in Wisdom and Love.
