A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Pope Leo XIV officially canonised Blessed Carlo Acutis on September 7, 2025, in a ceremony in St. Peter's Square. The announcement was made by the Vatican, with the canonisation Mass led by the Pope. Acutis, known as "God's Influencer," became the first millennial saint in the Catholic Church.

In September last year, relics of St Carlo toured the Northern Territory. At the time, Bishop Charles Gauci said the arrival of the exhibition was a timely reminder holiness was “available to everyone”.

“Holy people are those who are fully alive, deeply connected with others, with life, and with God,” Carlo Acutis embodied this in his life, and his response to Jesus’ call is a model for us all.”

We will finish the term with our annual Colour Day. This a great opportunity for some messy fun as well as raising funds for the school. We ask that students come to school dressed in a white t-shirt and clothes that you are happy to be colour splashed. They will also need a school uniform to change into after the colour run. If families would like to come and help out they are more than welcome.

This week as a school we farewelled Father Rodrigo who will be heading to Daly River to take on the role of Parish Priest. Father Rodrigo has worked tirelessly in both the Parish and the School during his time in Humpty Doo. He was a frequent visitor to the school for liturgies, class visits and special events. On behalf of the school community I would like to thank Father Rodrigo for all his efforts and wish him all the best with his next adventures.
