A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
|
|
Today as a school we celebrated the Feast Day of our patron saint, St Francis of Assisi, with a whole-school mass. St Francis of Assisi is remembered for his deep love for all living creatures and his commitment to living a humble, simple life. St. Francis taught us courage, justice, and respect. He stood up for what was right, faced challenges bravely, and treated everyone with kindness.

One of his famous quotes is, “Start by doing what is necessary; then do what is possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” This reminds us that every small action matters, and we should always do our best. As a school community, we can learn from his example by showing kindness, caring for the environment, and spreading peace in everything we do.

The mass was even more special as it was our first school mass with our new Parish Priest,
|
Father Mate Litric. Father Mate comes to Humpty Doo from the Archdiocese of Sydney. Originally from Croatia, Father Mate has also spent considerable time in Papua New Guinea. I am sure that he will be made to feel most welcome in our school and parish community.
|
At the end of Term Three we farewelled Lily from Senior W and Crystal from Middle S and their families. We wish them all the best in the future. This term we have welcomed Sunny and Karter who will both join Middle S. We welcome their families to our school community.
|
Next week we will hold a number of events to raise money for Catholic Mission during the annual Mission Month of October. Each day at lunch time a class will hold a stall or event such as discos and cake stalls. We ask where possible students bring a few gold coins to take part in this fundraiser.
|
Catholic Missions do amazing work across Australia and the world. This year a particular focus is on supporting the African nation of Zambia. For more information on some of the projects undertaken by Catholic Missions check out their website: https://www.catholicmission.org.au/

2026 Enrolments and Intentions
|
Although Term Four has just started, as a school we are already preparing for 2026. As we go through the process of forming class groupings next year it is important that we are aware of which students will be returning next year and which students are leaving us.
|
Staff spend considerable time forming class groupings to best meet the social and academic needs of all students. We are also accepting enrolments across all year levels for 2026. If you or someone you know has children who wish to join our school next year please contact the office as soon as possible. Catholic Education Northern Territory is running a promotion where 5 families will receive a $1000 discount on 2026 school fees if they book a tour and complete a new enrolment by November 19th.
|
A big thank you to Sapphire in Middle S and her mum Elena for their presentation of certificates and gifts to the students who participated in Russian lessons during Term Three's Friday Funday Electives. Through this program students in Year 3-6 are able to select from a range of subjects such as AFL, drama, coding and gardening. Our Term Four Friday Funday Electives will run on Friday afternoons in Weeks 4 to7. If you have a special skill or interest that you would like to teach please contact me.
