A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

On Friday June 6th staff from St Francis of Assisi school, Early Learning Centre and Outside of School Hours Care took part in a faith formation day with colleagues from Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School in Palmerston. The day was part of the ongoing commitment of Catholic Education Northern Territory to strengthen the Catholic Identity of our schools.

The day was led by Ann Charles the CENT Leader of Catholic Identity & Mission and explored the theme of Pilgrims of Hope and the Year of Jubilee. We were very lucky to have Bishop Charles take part in our morning reflection and speak about his experience of pilgrimage.

I would like to thank everyone who came along to our school concert. It was a wonderful evening and it was so great to see the children of the school community share their talents. A great deal of hard work went into the evening and it truly was a team effort from our fantastic staff.

As the church is currently undergoing renovations, the mass took place at the school which made it an extra special occasion for the students and their families.

This week families have received the student reports for Semester One. This is a great opportunity to reflect on all the learning and growth that has occurred and to set goals for the future. Please take the time to read your child’s report and reach out if you have any questions.

As most of you are aware, after 16 years Mr Steve is hanging up his chef’s hat later this month to take some well deserved leave prior to retiring. I am very pleased to announce that the school has reached an agreement with Happy Canteen to provide food services for the school.

Happy Canteen operates a number of school and ELC services across the Darwin region. At
|
St Francis of Assisi they will run the ELC, OSHC and school canteen services. Happy Canteen uses the Spriggy Schools App for online ordering for the school canteen.
|
We would like to wish you all a great holiday. Students return to school for Term 3 on Tuesday the 15th July.
