A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

This Sunday is Mother's Day which is a chance to honour our mothers, grandmothers, and all the special women in our lives. In our reflections, we also turn our hearts to Mary, the Mother of Jesus, who stands a shining example of maternal love and strength. As a school community we will celebrate Mother's Day this Friday. The day will begin with breakfast from 7:30am and then activities and a liturgy - all welcome.

We will also be holding a Mother's Day Stall to allow children to buy something for those special people in their lives. The school is also holding a Mother's Day Raffle with a host of great prizes donated by individuals and local businesses including Palm Creek Retreat, Evolve Beauty Aesthetics and Ground n' Flow Yoga & Wellness. A big thank you to everyone who has supported this raffle.

School Advisory Board AGM

The School Advisory Board held its Annual General Meeting in April. This meeting was brought forward to better align with the updated Catholic Education Northern Territory School Advisory Board Manual. I am pleased to announce the following Advisory Board Members for 2026:

As the weather cools down it is timely to remind families that school jackets are available to purchase from the front office for $70. If students do not have a school jacket they are able to wear a plain navy blue jumper or jacket. Colourful jumpers or jackets and those with large logos are not allowed to be worn at school. Also a reminder that student socks should be plain white, blue or black.

A reminder that the speed limit on all internal school roads is 10 km/h. The safety of all our children is our number one priority. Please slow down and drive safely - speeding, unsafe or aggressive driving will not be tolerated.

A Night In Italy School Fundraiser
|
We are looking for a small group of helpers to form a fun, creative committee to plan our upcoming fundraiser - A Night in Italy. The fundraiser will take place on the evening of June 18th. If you are interested in helping out please get in touch with the front office staff.

I am very pleased to announce that Georgia Shields has taken on the role of Aboriginal and Islander Education Worker (AIEW) at St Francis of Assisi. Georgia is a a proud Southern Arrernte, Pitjatatjarra, Yangkunjatjarra and Wangkangurru woman born and raised in Darwin. She has been a member of staff at St Francis since last year working as an Inclusion Support Assistant and an Outside of School Hours Care Educator. The role of the AIEW is to support all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with their learning, engagement and wellbeing through working collaboratively with teaching staff and school leadership.
