A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Chris McAloon
Hi All,

As we come to the end of the school year it is a great time to pause and reflect on the year that was. This week families received the Semester Two Student Reports. Please take the time to read through the reports, as they provide valuable information on your child's growth and achievement.

There has been a lot of time for reflection as we celebrated our graduating class of 2025. It was wonderful to celebrate this occasion with the students and their families firstly at the Graduation Dinner on Tuesday evening and then at our End of Year Mass and Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday morning.

It was great to look back on the students and their family’s journey during their time at St Francis of Assisi. Some of our students only joined our school this year while others have been part of our community since their time in the Early Learning Centre. We wish all the graduating students all the best as they continue their educational journey.

End of Year Awards
On Wednesday morning we also acknowledged and celebrated our End of Year Award winners. Firstly, the Minister for Education and Training’s Excellence Awards recognise excellence in literacy and numeracy achievement for students in all Northern Territory schools. The award winners have demonstrated growth, consistent application of skills across subjects, and a positive learning attitude.

2026 classes
I am pleased to announce that we have finalised our class structure and classroom teachers for next year. Due to increased enrolments we will have 6 classes in 2026. We will retain all current classroom teachers and welcome Karina Purcell. Karina will be well known to students and families as she has been working at the school as an Inclusion Support Assistant while she completed her studies. We are excited for Karina to commence her teaching career with us at St Francis of Assisi.
