A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Welcome back for Term Two! I hope that everyone had a safe and relaxing Easter break. This week our school will hold a special assembly to mark ANZAC Day on Friday April 24th at 8:30am in the Undercover Area - all are welcome. Then on Saturday the school will be represented at the Litchfield Lions ANZAC Day service at the Humpty Doo Village Green on Saturday April 25th from 9am. It is a real honour that our school choir will again perform the National Anthem at this community event.

School Advisory Board AGM

The School Advisory Board will hold its Annual General Meeting on Monday April 27th at 5pm in the School Library. We are seeking family representatives to join the School Advisory Board for 2026. Please contact me directly if you would like more information.

As a school community we will celebrate Mother's Day on Friday May 8th. The day will begin with breakfast from 7:30am and then activities and a liturgy. We will also be holding a Mother's Day Stall and Raffle - please see more information in the flyer below.

Save the Date: A Night in Italy School Fundraiser - Thursday June 18th
|
This year is a very special one for the whole St Francis of Assisi Catholic School community with Pope Leo proclaiming 2026 as a Jubilee Year of St Francis. This year was chosen as it marks 800 years since St Francis' death.
|
As a school community we will celebrate St Francis in many ways this year. At the end of this term we will hold a school fundraiser evening with the theme of 'A Night in Italy'. This theme was selected to celebrate St Francis' Italian heritage. We will be forming a planning committee of staff and families to organise the night. If you are interested in assisting please contact the school office.

I am excited to announce that Emma Goldsmith has joined our team as our Communications and Administration Officer. Emma has a wide range of administration and customer service experience across aviation, tourism and corporate environments. I am sure that everyone will make her feel most welcome at our school.

On behalf of the St Francis of Assisi school community, I want to pass on my congratulations to Josephine Santos and her partner on the news that they are expecting their second child. Josephine will commence maternity leave towards the end of Term Two. The school is currently in the process of recruiting a suitable teacher for the Senior S class for the remainder of the year.
