We will be having NAIDOC celebrations throughout next week across the school. The theme for 2022 is Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! There have been some rich discussions in classrooms about what this means to students. The students participate in a range of activities including a guided walk around our school to discover over 20 different types of native foods we have here on our grounds.
We are very fortunate to have Michelle On come to our school to share her expertise and enrich the learning of our students. She will share her knowledge on native foods, plant uses in the modern world, ethno engineering practices, caring for our country and so much more. We will end the celebrations on Friday with our NAIDOC liturgy at 8:30am.
RECYCLED MATERIALS: If you have any of the following, we would make good use of them at school.
-
smooth rocks that fit in the palm of your hand could you please bring them to school
-
-
scrap material, buttons etc
Our Year 5/ 6 students have been given the opportunity to be part of one of Australia’s most exhilarating sports- the SUPERCARS. This is an incredible opportunity for them to see how things they learn in class translate to life on and around the racetrack. The students will see practical applications of maths, physical education, tourism, marketing, event management, media studies and engineering in action at the motorsport event. It will be such a fun day out!

A reminder Semester 1 reports will be sent home at the end of next week.
