Hi Everyone,

We have had busy days this term and with much more to come but boy we have had fun! Thank you to our wonderful staff who celebrated Science Week with the students. It was great to see students investigating, experimenting and asking questions.

The Book Week Parade was a blast. Everyone came to school very excited and the costumes were wonderful. It was great to see everyone get into the spirit and show off their love of books. We loved having so many families take time out of their day to join us at the parade. Our Year 5/ 6 students book reading preparation is to be commended. They read a selection of short listed books that were enjoyed by the audience, they read expressively and captured the audience attention. The Q & A after each reading was fantastic. I hope this assisted in encouraging everyone to read.

Mary MacKillop Catholic College had their symphony orchestra and singers perform today at
St Francis. It was great to see the talent on show and the students enjoyed the performance.

And… tomorrow… Father’s Day Breakfast! Fun times continue! Breakfast begins at 7:30am followed by games. There will be a Father's Day Stall so the students can purchase gifts.

It is with sadness that we farewell Nicola Allison at the end of Term 3. I would like to thank Nicola for the dedication she has shown to her students this year. The students have grown and developed emotionally and academically under her guidance. She has developed in the students’ excellent work habits, a passion for learning and the importance of personal goal setting. We wish Nicola and her family well. We welcome Mr Lachlan Brodie to our staff. The students have welcomed Mr Brodie as he has worked across classes in his role as an ISA. The students are enjoying the daily lunch time sport sessions with Mr Brodie.

We would like to welcome our new student Kirk Tyndall in Transition. He is making lots of new friends and has settled in.

We have a school review in the upcoming weeks which is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on current practices, identify strengths and provide insights to inform our School Improvement Plan to ensure best outcomes for our students. We will keep you updated in upcoming weeks.

We are very lucky to have sports vouchers for all families in the NT. Two $100 vouchers are available for you to use each year for sport, active recreation and cultural activities. A quick reminder that locally we have karate onsite after school, tennis available at school every Wednesday and there is Auskick next door. If you need further information please ask at the office. There is further information available as you read the newsletter.

I will be at the National Catholic Education Conference next week from Monday to Wednesday. A reminder that Friday the 9th September is a pupil free day as we have a staff development day. There are limited places available in OSHC if needed. Please complete the Vacation Care Booking form below and forward it to our Office.

The Art Show will be on Tuesday 13th September from 3:00-5:30pm. You will have the opportunity to purchase your child’s priceless artwork. Thank you in advance for supporting the P & F fundraiser. I thank the P & F for all that they do to support the school and students.

The Colour Fun Run is on the last day of term. If you need another sign up booklet, they are available at the front office. We have white t-shirts available for sale, please place your order for these. Remember to add the 23rd of September to your diaries as we’d love to have families join in the colour explosion.

Have a great weekend,
Jen
