24June2021 -Teaching
Dear Families and Friends,
As I sit and write the final newsletter for the semester I reflect on what we have accomplished and all the exciting events and activities throughout the terms we have enjoyed.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the students for their hard work and persistence with their learning, the staff for working so hard to meet the needs of the children and the families for their support and partnership. In this final newsletter for the term, we would like to wish Mrs Morgan the very best after working with us for the past 10 years. I know that she is very excited about her relocation to Queensland to be closer to family but at the same time very sad to be saying goodbye to us.
I am very pleased to announce that the Catholic Education Office has appointed a Deputy Principal for St Francis to begin next term, Mrs Sarah Haydon. Mrs Haydon currently works at Wanguri Primary School but is looking forward to being part of our community here in Humpty Doo.
Last week we thoroughly enjoyed our 2021 Sports Day. Congratulations to Clare who won both the Athletics Shield and Spirit Cup and to all the age champions. A huge shout out to everyone who supported us in running the day and to Mrs Morgan and Ms Nola for coordinating the event.

open garden
If families and friends are around and looking for something to do on the weekend of the 26th and 27th of June please go and visit Beth's beautiful garden.
Beth is opening her garden through the Open Gardens scheme and is generously donating all funds raised to the Parish of Humpty Doo.

During the holidays we will be getting the junior block classrooms painted. We have also had the new furniture arrive for all the classrooms. Our classrooms will look very bright and new for the children's return next term.
Reports were sent home on Wednesday. This is an opportunity to celebrate some excellent achievements and begin conversations about learning goals for semester two.
Our 'Conversations for Learning' will occur in week 4 of next term, the 10th and 11th of August. The SOBs website will be open to families from Tuesday the 20th of July for those who would like to book their child’s ‘Conversations for Learning’.
Parents will need to use this URL to make bookings:

To help celebrate a very successful term we are inviting everyone to wear sun smart and shoe safe casual clothes tomorrow. We would also like to wish everyone a very safe and happy holiday and look forward to working with you in the new term.

Grow in Wisdom and Love.
