“May the hearts of those who have enough be open to filling the empty hands of those who do not have the bare necessities.”

~Pope Francis~

Dear Families,

I would like to wish Mrs Evi Dando well as she embarks on her journey of welcoming a new baby into the world. This is a very special time where memories are made, and the St Francis Community all wish her joy and blessings. I thank her for the wonderful start she has given our Year 3 /4 students and I know that the class routines and enriched learning environment will continue in her absence. We welcome Mrs Deborah Kalia-Bond to the Year 3/ 4 classroom until the end of this term. Mr Evi Dando's replacement for Term 2 and 3 will be announced in the upcoming weeks.

Our team in OSHC run a wonderful before, after and school holiday program. They are always planning great activities to entertain and engage the children. I know the students had a wonderful time this week developing their creative talents. There was excitement as they became science professors exploring matter and exploding a volcano. Please contact the front office if you would like further information on the OSHC program.

The classrooms have been a hive of activity across the grades. Our dedicated staff welcome parent communication to share feedback on the progress of children. I know there have been many parent teacher catch ups that have occurred already this term and we look forward to our Learning Conversations in Week 9. It is wonderful to see the rich learning in our classrooms and the strong social connections that are developing.

We will be celebrating mass tomorrow at 9am with Father Rodrigo. Our student leaders will be presented with their badges and we welcome our families to join us.

Please put the dates below into your diaries.
Friday 18 March – Welcome Mass
Monday 21 March – Harmony Day
Friday 25 March- National Ride2School Day
Tuesday 29/Wednesday 30 April- Conversations for Learning

Have a lovely weekend.

Thanks,
Jen Rudyard
Principal
