A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Hi everyone,

Thank you to our staff, families and students for the successful Learning Conversations this week. It was wonderful to share the learning journey of the students and demonstrate to the children that the partnership between home and school is important. It was a great opportunity to celebrate the strengths of the students and be aware of their goals for Term Two.

Ignite change – Listen. Understand. Empower

Autism Awareness Week runs from March 28th to April 3rd and World Autism Awareness Day is celebrated this Saturday April 2nd. It is a time to celebrate diversity, learn together and share information about Autism to spread awareness, acceptance and understanding to help make the world a more inclusive place for all.

Next Thursday is the last day of term for our students and we will be starting our morning with our Holy Week Liturgy. A reminder to everyone that Friday 8th April, is our school closure day. Please contact the front office if you would like to book your child into our Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) for the school holidays.

The end of term is just around the corner and after a busy term the students will be ready for a rest. Take care of yourselves and enjoy spending time together as a family. Take some time to be still and to admire the beautiful skies as the colours are stunning,

EASTER RAFFLE

Our Easter raffle will be drawn on the last day of term, Thursday 7th April. If you have prizes to donate to the raffle, please drop them off at the office. Tickets went home with students last week, if you require more tickets please ask at the front office, $2 a ticket or $10 for a book of 6 tickets.

P & F LOCK IN THE DATE

We invite our families to join us Week 1 next term on Thursday 21st April. We will meet together in the library at 3pm, school pick up time. We will have an activity to keep the children busy while we get together. We look forward to hearing all of your wonderful ideas. If you are unable to attend, please email through any ideas you have prior to the meeting and we will share those.

ANZAC DAY CEREMONY

Our school would like to support our local community and we encourage all families to attend the ANZAC Day Ceremony on Monday 25 April at the Humpty Doo Village Green Cenotaph. We encourage all students in the choir to attend the service to sing the National Anthem together.

NAPLAN

Our Year 5 students completed two practice tests for NAPLAN this week. Our Year 3 students will sit a practice test on Friday. If you have any questions regarding NAPLAN please contact Jen.

WEEK 9

Our Year 5/6 leaders had a wonderful time with the Transition class. They went on a scavenger hunt around the school grounds looking for 16 items found in nature.
