Dear Families and Friends,
Last Friday our School Captains, Ashleigh Overall and Roy Jansan, began fulfilling their roles as Captains through representing their school when they joined me and other students from schools across Darwin, in the Commemorative Service for the 79th Anniversary of the Bombing of Darwin at the Darwin Cenotaph. Our student leaders laid some flowers to honour the fallen on behalf of our school. Later in the newsletter, the School Captains have shared their experience at the ceremony.

This week we congratulate Delilah. Last year Delilah entered a poem into the 'Write 4 Fun' competition. Not only was Delilah acknowledged for her creative skill, she was published.
Congratulations and we look forward to enjoying many more of your master pieces.

This year we celebrate 200 Years of Catholic Education in Australia, marking the bicentenary of the first Catholic school established in Parramatta in October 1820. Our 1,751 Catholic schools educating 768,000 students across Australia are distinct and diverse. From metropolitan cities to rural, regional and remote parts of Australia, our schools meet the individual needs of their students differently, but with the same shared mission of an excellent, faith-based education.
The formal celebrations were due to be held from October 2020 to October 2021. However, due to pandemic restrictions, the celebrations are now being held during the 2021 school year. A National Mass will also be celebrated in every state, territory and diocese on the Feast of Our Lady Help of Christians on 24 May 2021.
Catholic Education NT is hosting an official launch to celebrate on Monday the 1st of March at St Mary’s Cathedral in Darwin. The School Captains and I will represent St Francis at this celebration.

Congratulations to Sports and Vice Sports Captains who have been voted to lead the teams for 2021.
For Anthony we have; Harry and Seth, Teresa; Lenny and Ricky, Francis; Delilah and Krisztian, Clare; Chloe and Arabella
Once again we congratulate all our students as they begin their leadership journey.
Grow in Wisdom and Love.
