Week 5 - lent
Dear Families and Friends,

On Monday morning the School Captains and I travelled with MacKillop Catholic College and Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School students to the Darwin Cathedral to celebrate 200 Years of Catholic Education in Australia.
200 year mass
We joined our fellow urban schools in liturgy to mark this significant celebration and enjoyed listening to a number of people talk about their memories of Catholic Education in Darwin.

This week information for parents and carers was sent home in regards to NAPLAN Online. All students in Years 3 and 5 are expected to participate in the annual NAPLAN assessment. This year St Francis of Assisi Catholic Primary School has transitioned from paper-based NAPLAN to NAPLAN Online in order to provide a better and more precise assessment that is more engaging for students. If you require further information please do not hesitate to contact your teacher, Mrs Morgan or myself.

It is with sadness that I inform families that Ashlea White has made the difficult decision to leave St Francis of Assisi Catholic Primary School to return to the southern states to be closer to family and friends.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ashlea for her contributions to the whole community and the impact she has had on many of our students and families. On behalf of the whole school, we wish her and her family all the best for the future.
As sad as we are to say goodbye, I am happy to announce that Mrs Evi Dando has accepted the role of classroom teacher of Room 11 for the remainder of the school year.

Volunteers are the backbone of our society. We see these volunteers everywhere we go, from local sporting clubs to hospitals, providing support and assistance that in many cases simply couldn't be bought.
Volunteers are just as important to us here at St Francis; our P&F Association and School Board are just two examples of the important work that volunteers do in our school.
In the coming days, a letter will be sent home to families via class dojo inviting parents to volunteer to be class parents. We hope that our class parents could be the coordinator and communicator for their class.

Wishing everyone a superb weekend.
Grow in Wisdom and Love.
