A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

unnamed
Hi All,

This week at St Francis of Assisi we marked Book Week with a number of events. The Book Fair has been very busy in the library with lots of wonderful items available to buy. Classes have held a number of buddy reading sessions where our senior students have been sharing stories with our junior stories.

Another highlight has been the daily shared stories over the P.A. speaker where classes have taken it in turns to read books to the whole school. We will finish the week with the annual Book Dress Up Parade at Friday’s assembly. Families are welcome to come and see all the wonderful costumes that the students (and staff) have put together.

Conversations for Learning
Conversations for Learning provide an opportunity for teachers and parents/carers to discuss children’s progress and future areas of focus. For decades, research from around the world has shown that parents/carers’ involvement in and engagement with their child’s education can lead to higher student achievement and better social-emotional outcomes.

This term’s Conversations for Learning will be held on September 5th and 6th between 3pm and 6pm. Bookings can be made via the following link: https://sobs.com.au/pt3/parent.php?schoolid=864. If you have any questions please contact the school office.

Tell Them From Me Survey
St Francis of Assisi along with all other Catholic schools in the diocese are taking part in the The Tell Them From Me surveys. These surveys provide an opportunity for staff, teachers, students and parents to give feedback on their experience of our school. The surveys are an important part of our whole school evaluation and planning process.

All surveys are accessed online and are anonymous. The parent survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. You are able to access the parent survey on your computer or mobile device by using the following link: http://tellthemfromme.com/s4n55. The parent surveys close this Friday, August 25th at 4pm.

School Closure Day
A reminder that the school will have a closure day on Friday September 8th. Our ELC will remain open on this day and the school will also be running Vacation Care. Please contact the office if you would like a Vacation Care booking form.

Blessings,
Chris McAloon
