A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

unnamed
Hi All,

This Friday marks World Teachers’ Day, which provides an opportunity to acknowledge the important work of teachers. Most of us have at least one teacher from our time at school who played a positive role in our lives. I have been blessed by being taught by a number of wonderful teachers while at school. In many ways it was these role models that led me to a career in education. Now as a teacher and Principal I also have the pleasure of working alongside so many gifted and dedicated professionals.

School Board Meeting
On Monday night we had a very productive School Board meeting with a number of important issues discussed. As it was our final formal meeting of the year we also finalised the board representatives for 2024.

We welcome Jesse Songer, Jarred Sack and Julia Kang as new parent representatives. They will join Kirsten Beames (Board Chair), Alana Young, Renae Scown and Josh Bunting as continuing parent representatives. I would like to take the opportunity to thank departing parent representatives Johanna Stieber (Outgoing Board Chair), Amanda Albert and Megan Page for their time and effort.

Before School Supervision
A reminder that before school supervision begins each day at 8am. Students are reminded to sit on the stage until there is a member of staff present to supervise. Before School Care is available from 7am - 8am (at an additional charge). Please contact the office for an Enrolment form if you require this service.

Mission Day
On Friday, we will be celebrating Mission Week. Mission Week raises awareness and funds for Catholic Mission. This year’s World Mission Appeal is in support of the needs of children and families in Timor-Leste.

Classes will be hosting stalls and activities that will run from 11:05am to 12:05pm, ranging from 50c to $2.00. Students can buy items or join in with activities, having fun and raising money at the same time.

ThinkUKnow Parent Session
I am very pleased to announce that we are offering a free internet and technology safety session with ThinkUKnow. The session will cover:
  • What young people see, say and do online
  • The challenges they face
  • How to report and get help if things go wrong
All families are welcome to attend the session which will be held in the library on Monday October 30th at 5:30pm.

2024 Planning
To assist the school with planning for 2024, if you are yet to do so can you please complete the attached student intention form or contact the school office. A reminder that 2024 Enrolments are open. The school is holding a Transition Parent Information Session today at 5:30pm in the school library.
