A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear St Francis Families,

Congratulations to all involved in our school ANZAC Day Service on Tuesday. We thank Cara Flynn for leading the school through the service. Our choir are to be commended for their efforts in singing the National Anthem at the ANZAC service held in Humpty Doo on Monday. Thank you to our families who came and supported our students and the local community.

We celebrate the significant women in the lives of our children next Friday 6 May with a Mother’s Day breakfast being served at 7:30am. We will follow this with some pampering in our classrooms and a Mother’s Day Liturgy beginning at 9:00am. Our P & F has asked for donations for our gift stall.

Wow, what an amazing week we have had in our classes across the school. We have had students working hard and trying their best. It is great to see the engagement in lessons.

I look forward to this long weekend enjoying the sights of Darwin.

Stay safe,
Jen Rudyard

LITERACY STORYTIME

Our Year 5/ 6 students put their literary skills to the test as they combined two famous fairytales. They used their creativity to change the main character and plot to create a story that grabbed the attention of the audience. They retold their story to the Transition class who then used their artistic talents to create puppets of the main characters. Oral language was then the focus as the Transition students retold the story with the assistance of the Year 5/ 6 students. Some students performed their plays for the whole audience. Fabulous learning for all whilst having fun!
