A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

unnamed
Hi All,

Thank you to everyone for donating items for last week’s Mission Day stalls. The students had a wonderful time with the different activities while also raising money and awareness for Catholic Missions. Catholic Mission is the Pope’s international Mission agency in Australia. It is an international organisation that partners with communities, helping them to flourish by supporting grassroots projects, including healthcare, education, and spiritual care. This year’s fundraising efforts focussed on health and education programs in Timor-Leste.

ThinkUKnow Presentation
This week the school hosted a cyber safety session in conjunction with thinkuknow.org.au and the Australian Federal Police. This very insightful session covered:
  • What young people see, say and do online
  • The challenges they face
  • How to report and get help if things go wrong
As a parent and an educator lots of the content was confronting but there were also a number of strategies discussed to increase the safety of our children when they are online. I understand evening sessions can be difficult to juggle with work and family commitments so if you would like some information on the presentation or online safety in general, visit thinkuknow.org.au

School Hats
I have still been noticing a number of students coming to school without their school hats. In this warmer weather it is really important that students wear their hats at all times when outside. If you have lost a school hat or need a second they can be purchased at the school office.

School Fees
Included in this week’s newsletter are the updated school fees for 2024. In order to meet our rising operational costs there is a slight increase in fees overall. Fees should never be a hurdle for families to gain access to a Catholic education. If you are experiencing hardship please contact the office to arrange a meeting with me to discuss different options with school fees.
