A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

unnamed
Hi All,

It was so great to be involved in the Darwin Christmas Pageant over the weekend. The event is a wonderful community celebration and a great opportunity to promote our school. A huge thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make our ‘walking float’ happen. It was extra special as St Francis of Assisi was awarded the Best Walking Float for a second year running! Let’s go for a Three Peat in 2024.

The festivities continue this Saturday with the Rural Carols at Bees Creek Primary School where our wonderful school choir led by Mrs Dando will perform. Gates open at 5.30pm with a sausage sizzle and drinks available for purchase. Carols start at 6:15pm. Those heading along are encouraged to bring a picnic rug or a chair. The event is undercover so it will go ahead even if there is rain.

While speaking of the Christmas Spirit, the school is collecting donations of non-perishable food for the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal. Christmas can be a very difficult time for those less fortunate members of our community and St Vinnie’s does an amazing job to bring a little bit of cheer. If you have any extra items in the pantry please think about dropping them into the front office.

2024 Planning
Our planning for 2024 is in full swing and it assists us greatly if we are aware of any changes in enrolments for next year. If you haven’t yet informed the office of your intentions for the 2024 school year please do so as soon as possible. We are hoping to finalise class grouping for 2024 in the next few weeks and then share this information with families.

Junior Swimming Program
A reminder that all students in Transition to Grade Three will take part in the School Swimming Program in Week Nine (December 4th to 8th). Students will participate in five 45-minute lessons with qualified instructors at the Goldfish Bowl in Palmerston.

Due to transport and instructor costs families are charged $60 per child which also includes a pair of goggles. Please return the permission slip and organise payment via the front office before Thursday November 30th.
