A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

unnamed
Hi All,

Firstly a big pat on the back to all the students who represented St Francis of Assisi at this week’s Primary Interschool Netball Day at the Palmerston Recreation Centre. Our senior students have been having weekly classes with Skye King from Netball Northern Territory in the lead up to the event. Thank you to Miss Woolley and Mr Jackson for taking on the role of coaches for the day.

Pastoral Care and Wellbeing Coordinator
I am very excited to announce that Miss Roxanne Woolley will be taking on the role of Pastoral Care and Wellbeing Coordinator for St Francis of Assisi. The role involves coordinating and leading staff in identifying, monitoring and supporting the Pastoral, Wellbeing and Behaviour needs of students and staff by designing and implementing programs and strategies. I have every faith that Miss Woolley will do an amazing job in this very important role.

Conversations for Learning
The school will hold Conversations for Learning on Tuesday, March 12th. These meetings provide an opportunity for families to meet with their child’s teacher to discuss their progress. Endless studies have shown that a good relationship between home and school results in better outcomes for children. Bookings for Conversations for Learning will open shortly. If you are unable to attend the scheduled Conversations for Learning meetings please contact your child’s teacher to arrange an alternative time.

Before School Supervision
A reminder that before school supervision does not begin until 8am each morning. The school operates Before School Care from 7am each day which can be booked on both a regular or casual basis. If you would like more information about Before School Care please contact the school office.

ELC Staffing Update
It is with a heavy heart that I announce that Deb Sully has informed me of her intention to retire from the Early Learning Centre. Miss Deb has been a much-loved educator at our centre for a long time and will be sadly missed by all children, staff, and families.

During her 12 years at St Francis of Assisi, Deb has cared for countless children and has made many positive impacts on the lives of the families of our community. Deb has also been a highly respected team leader and much-loved colleague.

On behalf of the St Francis of Assisi community I wish her all the best in her retirement. Deb’s final day at the centre will be Friday, March 8th.

With Faith in their Future
