Last day of school for 2019

Advent joy week 8
Dear families and friends,
Last Sunday was the first Sunday of Advent. Advent is a very important part of the Church's year when we are waiting and preparing for Christmas. At St Francis, we have been talking about Advent at our Monday morning assemblies for the past three weeks. Key themes that we have shared include; Hope, Joy and Peace. Next week we will talk to the children about Love.

Our End of School Year Mass is next Wednesday at 9:00am in the undercover area. We will also be celebrating the graduation of our 2019 Year 6 students and the presentation of yearly awards. We hope that families and friends can join us for this very special celebration.

Our school structure for 2020 will look a little different from this year as we will have a Transition/Year 1 class, a Year 1/ Year 2, Year 3/Year 4 and a Year 5/Year 6. We are still welcoming new enrolments. Class lists will be available from the 22nd of January.

On Wednesday evening the School Board met for the final time this year. At the meeting, both the School Uniform and the Pastoral Care and Wellbeing policies were ratified. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the school board for their time, energy and contributions to the school for our children and the support and guidance they provide to me.
Don't forget to buy a Christmas raffle ticket or two for your chance to win some fantastic prizes. Thank you to our community businesses and people who have contributed to these prizes; Area 9, Clare's Cleaning, Amcal Chemist -Humpty Doo, Gerry Wood, Kezia Purick, Savy Mechanical and our canteen suppliers, Bidfood.

Please keep sending in your donations of food items towards the annual St Vincent de Paul appeal. Baskets are available in the classrooms or the front office.

We would appreciate 5 minutes of your time to complete our school survey which will inform us and assist in our strategic planning for 2020. Please click on the link

On Monday and Tuesday, I will be attending the final two days of the leadership program I have been involved in throughout the year. Mrs Shannon Morgan will be coordinating the school in my absence.

Grow in wisdom and love
