Dear Families and Friends,

It is wonderful to feel that things around the school are almost back to normal.

Last Friday we paused for a moment to participate in our ANZAC Day liturgy; in remembrance for those who have and continue to work tirelessly to protect our country and our way of life. Traditionally,
St Francis of Assisi Catholic Primary School also participates with the local community event to commemorate the day. With our current restrictions this event did not occur. So we at
St Francis, to ensure the students understood the significance of the day, participated in making ANZAC biscuits. The children were put into small groups with an adult and made the biscuits from scratch. At recess we all enjoyed eating them, they were the best ANZAC biscuits that I have eaten for a while!

With the dry season almost upon us, the gardening club for 2020 has started again. We have been very busy preparing the garden beds and planting all the seeds from the Woolworth's promotion last year.

Thank you to all the families who sent the seeds into school. It was so much fun to plant the seeds, with some already beginning to sprout.
Thank you also to Sophie's mum who has sent in some paw paw trees and cantaloupe plants which will also be planted by the gardening club.

Next Sunday we will be celebrating our Mothers and the wonderful job that they do. On Friday our Parents and Friends Committee will hold their annual Mother's Day stall, while keeping in mind the current restrictions that are in place.

During this period we ask that families are particularly mindful of keeping in contact with their child's teacher, communication is powerful. If your child is absent we ask that you contact the school via class Dojo, the school app, email or a phone call to the office. We thank you in advance in regards to your cooperation in this matter.

We wish everyone a fun and safe long weekend with family.
