week 6 Prayer
Dear Families and Friends,
On Wednesday morning we began the day with a liturgy to celebrate the beginning of National Reconciliation Week. The theme this year is, “In This Together”. Reconciliation is a journey for all Australians – as individuals, families, communities, organisations and importantly as a nation. At the heart of this journey are relationships between the broader Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our newly appointed AIEW, Mehli, will lead the children in further activities throughout the week.

This week we shared on our Facebook page a GoFund Me link for one of our families.
Sam Whiting who has been a parent in our school for a number of years, has cancer and needs to go interstate for her treatment. The fundraiser is for Sam to travel with her boys to be with her family in this very challenging time. Sam will be without income for at least the next six months and the money raised will assist Sam and her boys while she undergoes the treatment. No amount is too small and we realise that times are tough for a lot of people at the moment but if you can give anything it would mean the world to Sam and the boys. The link is:

The 2020 My Place Creative Writing Competition for students in Years 3 - 10 coincides with the screening of My Place – Series 2 on ABC ME. The Australian Literacy Educators Association (ALEA) will be partnering with the Australian Television Foundation ACTF for this year’s competition to capture creative stories and poems from students around Australia about this challenging and unique time. The competition page outlines most of the details, and entries can be uploaded from May 25 through until June 26. So if your child is interested, please get involved as we have a number of budding authors throughout the school.

Keep this Sunday the 31st May between 8am and 12pm free and come along to the Berry Springs Market, where our Year 6 students will be cooking and serving delicious bacon and egg sandwiches, sausage sandwiches, cakes and other yummy foods as part of their fundraising efforts towards their Graduation celebrations. We thank Gerry Wood for his very generous donation of $200 of Coles vouchers for us to purchase the goods for the stall.

Grow in Wisdom and Love.
